In November of 2005, the Western Rockingham Chamber of Commerce sponsored the first Miss Rockingham County Pageant since Vicky Vaughn Boyer was crowned in 1972. Vicky crowned her successor, Mallorie Price, Miss Rockingham County 2006. Mallorie was awarded $2,000.00 for scholarship tuition. The chamber hopes to continue to commit to that amount, if not more, for future winners.

In November of 2006, April Harris was crowned Miss Rockingham County 2007. She will compete in the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant in June, 2007.
